From Monday 28 May 2012, visa applications to the French Embassy in Dublin will only be made through the VISA APPOINTMENT SERVICE HELPLINE: 1580 372 623 [1]
The helpline will be in operation from Monday 14 May 2012.
Most of short stay visas issued for France (except for overseas territories) by the French Embassy are Schengen visas.
The Schengen Area is a free movement zone comprising 22 of the 27 EU states plus 3 non-EU members (Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland).
Ireland is not part of the Schengen Area.
