14-27 July 2014 : France on stage for the Galway Arts Festival
With two major shows scheduled, France will play an active part in the Galway Arts Festival organised in the capital of Connemara from July 14th to July 27th.
The Galway Arts Festival is one of the main Irish artistic event.
Organised in the city of Galway, at the gates of Connemara, the Festival welcomes hundreds of street artists, dancers, singers and acrobats who attract each year thousands of tourists to the city.
This year’s edition will run from July 14th to July 27th. Organised on an annual basis since 1978, the event is the occasion for Galway city to present a wide variety of artists coming from all over the world. This year’s programme will gather theater, comedy, street show, dance, visual arts, music and literature.
With no less than 500 world artists and musicians, the Festival remains one of Galway’s main artistic event of the summer.
With two shows on the line-up, France will be at the forefront of Galway’s summer cultural life. Sponsored by the cultural service of the French Embassy, the Galway Arts Festival lines up the following two French shows :
Circus company Les Philébulistes will present Hallali or Beethov’s 5th, a magic and poetic description of a circus’ daily life.
Two shows are programmed on July 16 and 17 at 6pm on Eyre Square. Entrance is free of charge.

Dragonus, the new creation of Malabar’s artistic company is an acrobatic, musical and fireworks show staging actors, musicians, acrobats and even a gigantic articulated dragon !
Two shows are programmed on July 19 and 20 at 10pm on Eyre Square. Entrance is free of charge.
