2012 - Art, science and interdisciplinarity with Bruno Latour

Bruno Latour, Scientific Director and Vice-President for Research of “Science Po” Paris. - JPEGWorld-renowned philosopher and anthropologist Prof. Bruno Latour, Scientific Director and Vice-President for Research of “Science Po”, the French “Grande Ecole” based in Paris focused on political sciences, has been invited by two local Irish partners with the support of the French Embassy:

- Dublin City University (DCU): Bruno Latour will give a seminar on interdisciplinarity, for academics and post-graduate students. This seminar will start on Friday 17 February, at 3.30pm

- Science Gallery and Trinity College Dublin (TCD): Bruno Latour will deliver a general public lecture at the Science gallery, on Monday 20 February, at 6 pm.

He will also meet the many Irish alumni of ”Sciences Po”, on the occasion of an official reception offered by the French Embassy .
Bruno Latour, born in Beaune, Burgundy, was trained first as a philosopher and then an anthropologist. He has been professor at the “Centre de sociologie de l’Innovation” at the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines” in Paris, and visiting professor at the university of California (UCSD), at the London School of Economics and at the Harvard University.
