Concert: Pascal Gallois-New Music for Bassoon (March 4th)

JPEGThe eminent French musician Pascal Gallois will be coming to Ireland to perform on two free concerts as well as give master classes to student composers of the National University Ireland Maynooth. Mr Gallois, besides having a very successful and active solo career is also a member of numerous ensembles including ensemble intercontemporain and the Aeolian Trio.
Pascal Gallois will be playing works for bassoon that have been expressly written for him. Works by the masters Luciano Berio and Mauricio Kagel and rising voices Olga Neuwirth and NUIM’s Jesse Ronneau will be featured. All of the carefully selected works push and press on the capabilities of this often overlooked and remarkably diverse instrument.

With the support of the French Embassy in Ireland, National University of Ireland Maynooth, Hugh Lane Gallery, City of Dublin and The Arts Council.
