François OZON to attend the Jameson Dublin Film Festival 2011
Acclaimed French Cinema Director Francois Ozon will attend the Closing Night Gala, for the screening of his film Potiche .
The French Embassy in Ireland and the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival are delighted to announce that director François Ozon (8 Femmes, Swimming Pool) will introduce his sparkling comedy Potiche , which closes the festival on Sunday 27th February.
Ozon will also receive a Volta, the Festival’s Tribute Award.
The annual Volta Awards are named after Ireland’s first dedicated cinema, the Volta Picture Theatre on Mary Street in Dublin, which opened on 20 December 1909. The cinema was run by an enterprising young novelist named James Joyce.
Previous recipients of our Volta Awards include Gabriel Byrne, Daniel Day Lewis, Paolo Sorrentino, Patricia Clarkson
and Kristin Scott Thomas.
