Lecture: "Louis XIV à Versailles, la création d’un lieu de pouvoir"

JPEGGérard Mabille, General Curator for Heritage at the Musée National du château de Versailles will deliver a lecture at Trinity College Dublin as part of the series of events on the occasion of the exhibition Troubled magnificence, France under Louis XIV which is on display in the Old Library, Trinity College from October 2011 to April 2012.

The lecture will be followed by a cappella performance by the Alliance Française and Lycée Français Choirs conducted by French soloist and vocal teacher Laura Zimmermann. They will perform two choruses from Lully’s operas: Alceste (La Fête Infernale) and Cadmus et Hermione (Vivez heureux) as well as a short Folia composed by the young Irish musician Sam Kavanagh in the spirit of Lully and on words of Molière.
