Open Day on the Andromède
The French Embassy is pleased to welcome in Dublin the Andromede, a French mine hunter vessel.
The Andromede calls on Sir Rogerson’s Quay in Dublin for three days and organises an open day on Saturday 12 April from 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm.
This open day will enable visitors to witness France’s action in terms of marine mine hunting.
The crew will show visitors technics used to ensure the security of maritime corridors and coastlines.
Launched in 1984, the Andromede is a Brest-based mine hunting vessel. Its missions cover the detection, localisation and neutralisation of marine mines 30 to 260 feet below sea level.
The Andromede will remain in Dublin on Sir Rogerson’s Quay (across the Dublin Convention Centre) until Monday morning.
