On Wednesday 24th August, the President of the Republic received Mr Mahmoud Jibril, the Prime Minister of the National Transitional Council of Libya. Nicolas Sarkozy announced that he will host an international conference, “Friends of Libya,” in Paris on 1st September to discuss Libya’s future. He reiterated that France will continue its military operations against the military forces of Muammar Gaddafi for as long as necessary.
