Prime Minister awards "Coalition Climat 21" the Major National Cause label for 2015
Climate disruption/COP21/Major National Cause label for 2015 – Communiqué issued by the Prime Minister’s Office
Paris, 21 April 2015
Manuel Valls, Prime Minister, has awarded the Major National Cause label for 2015 to Coalition Climat 21.
From 30 November to 11 December 2015, France will be the host country of the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21). The mobilization of civil society is essential because of its ability to act as a driving force for the country. This is why it was suggested at the last Environmental Conference that the fight against climate change be awarded the Major National Cause label in 2015.
Coalition Climat 21 brings together voluntary organizations and civil society movements whose goal is to raise awareness about climate change. The Major National Cause label will enable its publicity campaign to benefit from free broadcasts on state radio and television stations.
In this way, the Prime Minister wishes to show his support for an initiative which, by bringing together numerous players, will increase mobilization efforts and amplify the messages highlighting the key objectives of the COP21.
