The Month of Francophonie 2016

To celebrate French language and cultural diversity, the Month of Francophonie 2016 will showcase from March 1st to April 6th a series of cultural events involving music, literature, film and history along with talks, debates and contests.

Programme: The Month of Francophonie in Ireland 2016

The International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) is an institution based on sharing the French language and common values. It brings together people from various cultures and traditions having chosen to adhere to the principles of the organisation: cultural and linguistic diversity, democracy, human rights, education, research, sustainable development and solidarity.

It consists of 54 members, 23 observing countries and 3 associated member states.

On the occasion of the anniversary of its creation, on March 20th 1970, twenty of these Embassies and diplomatic missions in Dublin organise a Month of Francophonie in Ireland, to celebrate their common values.


The Month of Francophonie
is presented by the
