Update on French European Policy: A Franco-Irish Conversation

Pierre Lequiller, Vice-Chair of the Committee on European Affairs in the French National Assembly - JPEGSpeakers: Pierre Lequiller is the Vice-Chair of the Committee on European Affairs in the French National Assembly.
His Irish interlocutor for this seminar is Paul Gillespie. Mr. Gillespie is a columnist and former Foreign Editor of The Irish Times and conducts academic research on European political identities at the UCD School of Politics and International Relations.

Days before the December European council which will focus inter alia on the strengthening of the Economic and monetary union and defence cooperation, Pierre Lequiller and Paul Gillespie will present us with their views on French European policy and more generally on the current issues on the European agenda. They will as well debate on the outlook for the European Parliament elections and the renewed EU institutions in 2014.

This event is the first in a series of ‘Franco-Irish Conversations’ which the French Embassy in Ireland will co-organize with a range of partners.
