Dublin Contemporary 2011
Dublin Contemporary 2011 is the first ever large-scale visual art exhibition to take place in Ireland in Earlsfort Terrace’s historical building and in four important Dublin galleries: The Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane, The National Gallery of Ireland and The Royal Hibernian Academy.
In response to the theme Terrible Beauty—Art, Crisis, Change & The Office of Non-Compliance , with the support of the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Ireland and the Institut Français, Dublin Contemporary 2011 will showcase works by several French artists and artists based in France. You will find the huge sculpture Le berceau by artist Wang Du, based in Paris, the monumental light installation Light house II by French artist Jeanne Susplugas, the last works by pioneering conceptual artist Braco Dimitrijevic and the latest creations by French artist Alain Declercq and Parisian collective Claire Fontaine.
