The 60th Wexford Festival Opera

JPEG

The Wexford Festival Opera, with the support of the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Ireland, presents La cour de Célimène by Ambroise Thomas (1811-1896), an opera comique, written in French and containing both spoken and sung passages.

To mark the special contribution of the French Embassy and Danone to the 60th Anniversary of the Wexford Festival Opera, the 2011 Friends of Wexford Opera Lecture was hosted at the French Residence . Since its inception in October 1951, the Wexford Festival Opera has grown to be one of the premier cultural events in Ireland, with a solid grip on the international Opera Festival calendar.
